Assessment structure

Assessment tells us what to teach next. That is its main purpose, so it happens often and in small pieces, with three larger examination cycles marking the terms.

Promotion criteria

  • An aggregate of 50 percent or above across the year
  • A pass in English, Urdu and Mathematics
  • Attendance of at least 80 percent
  • Re-sit examinations are held in the last week of July

Board examination preparation

From Grade 8 onwards, internal papers use the board's mark distribution, question types and timing. By the time a student sits an actual SSC paper, the format holds no surprises.

  • Full mock examinations in December and February for Grades 10 and 12
  • Marked past papers returned with written feedback, not just a score
  • Saturday revision sessions for board candidates from January
  • Practical examinations rehearsed under timed conditions

Examination rules

  • Datesheets issued three weeks in advance on the student portal
  • Candidates seated ten minutes before the paper begins
  • No electronic devices in the hall; calculators only where the syllabus permits
  • Academic dishonesty results in a zero for the paper and a meeting with parents
  • Medical absence requires a certificate within three working days
